Citroën has let take a quick glance over new saloon design

Short before the official presentation, saloon of Citroën DS 5LS, which is specifically aimed at China, has been shown.

The company’s Facebook entry accompanying the preview photo read that the presentation of a new sedan of premium class will be held next Thursday.

New DS 5LS is likely to resemble a DS4 hatchback.

Based on the success of the model in China, the second stage of DS 5LS marketing might include Europe. Notably, the Celestial Empire differs from the other markets because it implies stratification of DS from other Citroën vehicles.

Saloon solution is the first DS model to be sold in China. Two more are planned to be produced for this market, both heirs of Citroën concept cars: a spacious SUV, a design successor of DS Wild Rubis, and a more capacious saloon inspired by Numero 9 released last year and 2010 Citroën Metropolis.

China has taken the place of France in being the largest market of the company. It can partly be attributed to opening of local DS production site.
