We can only guess whether Chevrolet Revives Chevelle as an RWD Vehicle
Patrick George discussed recent General Motors trademarks for the Chevelle name. After a short discussion regarding trademark process, George made a conclusion; the Chevelle name may find the way out by attaching to something less deserving, like Dodge’s C-segment vehicle ended up with the Dart moniker. But there is also a light ray for optimists.
In January, TTAC speaker (or also known as, Mark Reuss, GM’s North American chief) informed an Australian news outlet that the Code 130R concept vehicle “would be a fantastic entry for us.” The Code 130R was a BMW 1-Series concept model that used an FR layout and an efficient four-cylinder engine, similar to the Scion FR-S.
Nowadays, Alpha has a pair of models based off of it; the Cadillac ATS and the next gen Chevrolet Camaro. GM will need to utilize this base more, as amortization its funds. Toyota follows an analogous approach with the FR-S, creating different versions to absorb the funds of promoting such a platform from the ground up.
