$439M Investment for Chevy Corvette Facility in Kentucky
General Motors is investing money in its Chevrolet Corvette facility.
The American producer has declared a $439 million money pouring into its Bowling Green production plant in Kentucky. The money will be spent on constructing a new paint shop. It will occupy 450,000 square feet. The shop’s construction is expected to be finished in two years. The work will begin in this summer.
Besides other new technologies which are being used in the shop, there are new robots which help to have an extremely smooth finish and a dry scrubber booth which helps to eliminate sludge water and waste. Moreover, there are high-efficiency baking ovens and LED lighting.
There will be the same quantity of employees at the factory. The automaker assures that Corvette deliveries will not suffer from the construction.
This investment is considered to be a part of General Motor’s overall plan to invest $5.4 billion into American producing till 2018.
