Paparazzi spied the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox
The 2018 Equinox from Chevrolet is going worldwide.
Paparazzi have secretly snapped a right-hand drive version during testing in Michigan. The vehicle will be presented sometime later in 2016. This restyled crossover features a new front fascia and big foglight. Its grill is rather wide. The model can be identified by an upward sweeping beltline, a spoiler mounted at the tailgate and a gently sloping roof.
The automaker has not revealed the vehicle’s specifications. We know that the Equinox will ride on the D2XX chassis underpinning the Cruze. In such a way a smaller crossover will rival with such vehicles as the Toyota RaV4 and Honda CR-V.
Engine choices are unknown. Probably, the car will receive power from a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre V4 engine producing 197 hp and torque of 192 lb-ft or a 1.5-litre turbocharged V4 unit delivering 160 hp and torque of 184 pound-feet. Front-wheel drive will come regular. Four-wheel drive will come optional.
The model might be presented at the Auto Show held in LA. It should spawn the replacements of the Holden Captiva and the Opel / Vauxhall Antara. These offerings will have slightly revised design, brand-specific badging and a returned suspension.
