GM resumes production of Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon

After months of downtime due to coronavirus, General Motors resumed the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon SUVs production at a plant in Arlington, Texas.

Actual, today, only cars with a “standard-wheelbase” are produced there, but soon the production of long-wheelbase Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL will begin, and the new Cadillac Escalade will join them at the end of the year. All of these models are built on the T1 platform, which first appeared in 2019 on the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, but with a new fully independent rear suspension.

The downtime was expensive for GM because pickups and SUVs are extremely profitable cars for the company, not to mention their incredible popularity. Suffice it to say that the brands Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac, claim to be almost half of the full-size off-road market in North America.
