Environmentally Friendlier and Quicker New Corvette
With strict pollution regulations car producers are forced to increase the number of gears to keep the performance, and it is exactly what Chevrolet plans for the next year’s car.
Automatic gearbox for eight speeds will provide the car with a full 1-mpg benefit. Now the fuel economy totals 29 mpg. A six-speed modification, for instance, is 3.5 percent back from this figure. Generally, the American company promises that in a public road cycle 30 mpg will be quite realizable for the renewed product.
Apart from that, acceleration will also become somewhat quicker: 60-mpg mark will be conquered in mere 3.7 seconds.
Diet is also planned for the car at the cost of lighter transmission. This detail comes from the assembly lines of a Toledo-based facility. By the end of 2014 another Chevrolet and GMC model will also see the world with the new gearbox variant.
