Chevy Corvette Transformed into a Shooting Brake
Callaway has presented the latest AeroWagen pack for the Corvette and Corvette Z06 from Chevrolet.
The package will turn the model into a shooting brake. The pack has a one piece carbon fibber composite construction which is slated to enhance the offering’s cargo capacity. The whole structure is finished in natural carbon fibber. However, the automaker can choose the other colour for the hatch, so that it looked like the vehicle’s body colour.
Meanwhile the offering will use the original seals, latch and hinge mechanisms. The rear interior will be carried over as well. Users will have an opportunity to remove the vehicle’s targa top. It was told that the installation of the hatch is straight-forward and reversible. So, the owners will be able to revert back to the regular hatch.
Unfortunately, performance transformations were not included into the pack. The Corvette AeroWagen receives power from a 6.2-litre eight-cylinder engine producing 455 hp and torque of 460 pound-feet. The Z06 model will ride with a supercharged 6.2-litre eight-cylinder generating 650 hp and torque of 650 lb-ft.
At the current moment we do not know the prices. Callaway is accepting orders and plan schemes so that performing installations in Connecticut and California could start at the end of 2016.
