Chevrolet Volt's Top Plug-in Sales
The Chevrolet Volt is leading in plug-in sales.
The restyled next year’s Volt from Chevrolet has shown an increase in sales for the automaker from the U.S. Its plug-in hybrid sold 1,865 vehicles in March. This marked a 192-percent boost in comparison with last year’s March number of 639. This year the automaker has already sold 3,987 Volts. In comparison with the same period in last year, it is 1,874 vehicles over.
The 2nd-gen of the Chevrolet Volt was dramatically enhanced. The Nissan Lead is behind with this new offering. The ex-best-selling EV faced sales of 1,246 cars in March. This is 31% less than it had last year. Totally, Nissan has sold 2,931 Leafs during this year’s March. This is 28% less in comparison to the 4,085 cars sold starting since January and till March last year.
Cumulative sales of the Chevrolet Volt are ahead of the Nissan Leaf. The Volt has got rid of 92,737 vehicles for the last 6 years. The Leaf has sold 92,522 units.
Nissan has not spoken about the next-gen Leaf. It introduced the IDS concept at last year’s Motor Show held in Tokyo.
