6,000 Unsold cars of First-Gen Volt from Chevrolet lie around
A report from The Detroit Free Press suggests that Chevrolet has around 6,000 unsold vehicles of first generation Volts which are sitting on dealer lots now.
It is going to be a little bit tough for the automaker to sell the stock and gain profit since the second generation is just a short distance away. Considering the fact that the company has delivered only 2,799 vehicles from January till April, we can easily count the huge drop. If to compare the numbers with the same period of the last year, the drop composes 46%.
Customers who can’t wait the massively upgraded second generation Volt have a great opportunity to haggle for an offering from the first generation. TrueCar assures that the 2015 Volt (MSRP $34,345) will cost $30,607 not including tax credits.
Do not forget that the next year’s Volt will have price of $33,995 MSRP (together with $825 destination). By adding the $7,500 federal tax credit, the sum will be dropped to $26,495 ($24,995 in California because of extra incentives).
