Racing Potential of Cadillac ATS to be Checked
In 2015 the world will see a full-fledged GT3 racer from Cadillac.
Finally the old CTS-V.R will get fresh blood reinforcement embodied by GT3 ATS which will be produced in the coupe modification with a six-cylinder twin-turbo mill in its heart. The report made to RACER periodical indicates that Cadillac has already found an implementation for the developed vehicle: it will substitute CTS-V coupe in Pirelli races. Notably, the latter won two previous years in a row. The triumphant driver O’Connell is full of enthusiasm to take another title.
Initially CTS-V.R was planned to be the only Pirelli racer, but gradually the company began to extend its GT3 line-up. Such a decision looks exclusively wise now with GT3-type vehicles winning 9 titles of 12 possible over the years. Cadillac has not confirmed its position regarding the open marketing of the new car. For now high hopes are vested upon GT3 ATS due to the existence of a strong motivator in the form of CTS-V.R venturing the third consecutive Pirelli championship.
