A Cherry Red CT6 from Cadillac was snapped in China
A pre-production CT6 prototype from Cadillac is painted in a cherry red colour. It has been photographed in China.
The company has revealed the model under consideration at the beginning of April. This happened at the Auto Show in New York. Now a cherry red unit has been caught somewhere in China. Probably, the vehicle was being tested there in order the clients received a fine-tuned luxury sedan. If you move inside the vehicle, you will find a light beige interior with a whole bunch of wood and leather trim. There also is the regular 8-speed automatic transmission.
Which engine is hidden under the hood of this Model? Unfortunately, it is unknown yet. The automaker will probably offer the new model with a 2.0-litre turbo-four engine producing 265 hp, a range-topping 3.0-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo motor squeezing out 400 hp and a mid-range 3.6-litre six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine generating 335 hp. Having paid more money, the customer can opt for an active-on-demand four-wheel drive system.
The company will also offer a more economical plug-in hybrid variant. A 2.0-litre V4 turbo with dual electric motors will be used in it. They are able of producing 335 hp and torque of 432 lb-ft if combined. A18.4 kWh lithium-ion battery helps the hybridized model to double the efficiency of fuel of the conventionally- powered units. A minor electric range will be provided as well.
The Chinese variant will be gathered together by the local Shanghai-GM venture. As to the US-spec offering, it will be produced at the Detroit-Hamtramck. The vehicle’s production will start before the current year ends. As to sales, they will kick off at the beginning of 2016.
