Turbo V6 to Complete the New RS4 from Audi
Changes await new Audi RS4 with turning to turbocharged six-cylinder engine.
The decision to go a level down is reasonable taking in account the gradually toughening environmental legislation in Europe. Besides, sports cars of fellow carmakers have already made transition to V6.
Thus, BMW M3 and M4 are powered with twin-turbo I6 having the capacity of 3.0 litres. Similarly, turbo engines will become a trend of Audi in connection to RS lineup even though the brand’s models with the most powerful engines are usually set with superchargers.
Twin-turbo engines have already been used by the carmaker for RS4 at the beginning of the millennium. At European markets of 2000 and 2001 the sedan was equipped with V6 of a kind for 2.7 litres which pushed 375 hp. Penetration of RS4 to the American market is still an open question.
