The Innovated Audi R18 Race Vehicle
The latest Audi R18 race vehicle was introduced. It is going to take part in the Le Mans 24 Hours and the FIA WEC.
The LMP1 was redesigned for the next year’s race season. It has innovated aerodynamics. Moreover, the race vehicle is innovative in lightweight design. A diesel hybrid powerplant will give power to the vehicle. It will feature an efficiently-optimized TDI mill and lithium-ion batteries for energy storage.
A couple of the innovated Audi R18 race models will be seen at Silverstone. This will happen on April 17. Audi Sport Team Joest will be at the steering wheel. The producer from Germany also stated that it and Porsche, its Group sister brand, have agreed to compete in the WEC and Le Mans 24 Hours with 2 vehicles instead of 3. This was done in the economy interest.
The automaker also stated that its other intentions for the next year remain unchanged (for example, the DTM driver range). The 8 drivers that took part in the last year will drive next season, but Nico Müller and Adrien Tambay are changing teams.
The Head of Audi Motorsport announced that the innovated Audi R18 sets a new signal. The automaker goes on to put the pedal to the metal in motorsport. It relies on TDI at Le Mans on purpose, as it is considered to be the most successful automotive efficiency tech around the globe.
