Rendering of Audi Q1 gives an Opinion about Vehicles Possible Outlook
Audi Q1 was speculatively rendered before its official launch in the next year.
The automaker is preparing an innovated crossover which had to wear the “Q2” badge, but received the “Q1” name because of FCA’s refusal to sell the rights. Audi has already stated that the offering will reach the line-up in the next year.
This digital rendering is based on a teaser sketch recently shown by Audi. The smallest crossover in the line-up will be produced in Ingolstadt, Germany. It will feature five doors. If to believe some of the reports, it was mentioned that the vehicle will be based on the Volkswagen Polo. The vehicle is said to be 3.8 meters (or 12.4 feet) in length. It also is expected to have a significant ground clearance. Though, a four-wheel drive system is not being planned.
A 1.4-litre TFSI and TDI engines along with a range-topping SQ1 variant should be expected for this model. The last one can generate 231 hp (or 170 kW). A plug-in hybrid variant can be developed with a 1.2-litre petrol powertrain and an 80 kW electric motor.
Audi will probably show the Q1 in the course of this year since it is planned to come out in 2016.
