Audi RS3 Will Have 2.5-liter Turbo Five-Pot

The Audi’s RS3 is expected to take its power from a 2.5-liter TFSI V5.

Stephan Reil who is a quattro division leader announced the engine plan in the interview with the Top Gear, though he did not tell about the possible power which this engine will be able to produce. The magazine hints that it will be able of minimum 360 hp which is 20 higher that the previous RS3.

Initial variants will be offered with five doors, but it was reported that the automaker is thinking about a possibility of a sedan version alike the A3 clubsport Quattro concept which can be seen on the picture here. If these pans will be embodied, the automaker will be able to offer a new Audi RS vehicle in the American showrooms, since the four-door model is better for this market.

Production will probably start in 2015. It is possible that it will be followed by a presentation at the Motor Show in Geneva in 2015.
