Audi Quattro May Mate a 2.5l Turbo Engine with 360 HP
Ambitious Quattro Concept from Audi may actually present more than meets the eye looking at an aggressive and heavy alleged sport hybrid.
Rupert Stadler, company’s CEO, reports that such a car might really be built. German edition called Auto Motor und Sport features Stadler’s statement of building the concept in order to weight all pros and cons and analyze feedback, which has been mostly positive up to date.
If Audi Quattro is put in production, it will gain a 2.5-litre turbo engine with 5 cylinders and hp figures of 340 – 360. A concept presented in Frankfurt this year had a range of differences impossible to implement in production. Such features included a twin-turbo engine with 8 cylinders and 4.0 litre capacity amounting to breathtaking 700 hp and torque of 590 lb-ft. A possible full-fledged version will be of a more down-to-earth kind, yet offering a choice in power performance.
The expected weight of Quattro might reach 2,866 lbs. Combined with 340-360 hp it turns a possible production model into an interesting sports car with four-wheel drive.
