A look at Audi TT Roadster of 2016
The convertible Audi TT was shown off in Paris.
The R8 has inspired designers to create a new convertible. The TT has weight of only 2,910 since it rides on the new MQB platform having little weight. The model has front-wheel drive and hand control gear box.
It is powered by a gasoline 2.0-liter supercharged powertrain producing 230 hp in the TT and 310 hp in the TTS. After hitting 75 mph, a spoiler will burst open, since the TT roadster is a sportive vehicle. The most important fact which will enhance sales is that this model will have a four-wheel drive.
The convertible will have a hidden secondary supporting block inside the A pillars along with supplementary steel ribbing in the sills for strength enhancement. V-shaped braces will be added to the model’s running gear. This will help to avert its deformation.
The innovated model will have a soft-top, claimed to be 6.6 lbs lighter than the previous variant’s top not including the rude fleece covering which was added to the top for insulation of sound and temperature. The vehicle will need only 10 seconds either to open or to close its top. The convertible top can be manipulated up to 31.1 mph. and being pulled back, the roof will not change the space of the trunk. This is good news since cargo room features just 9.9 cubic feet.
