A 104M Euro Investment for Gyor Factory in Hungary
Foreign minister of Hungary has stated that Gyor Audi’s plant will get a €104 million investment.
The information was announced to MTI national news agency. Hungarian government will provide €19 million of the total sum of the investment. The minister continued saying that 380 work-places will be added at the automaker’s plant in Gyor. At the present moment, the producer gathers there the TT Coupe, TT roadster, A3 Sedan and A3 Cabriolet there. Some engines for VW Group are also assembled at this factory.
The investment came after the automaker’s announcement about 3 million EA189 diesel motors equipped with a defeat device. This news gave birth to concerns about the factory’s future. Last year it produced 135,232 vehicles and 1.97 million engines.
It is unknown if the investment deals with the rumours about a TT range expansion. The automaker is said to add a 4-door variant (TT Sportback) or a crossover (TTQ).
