8 millionth Quattro-Equipped Audi Vehicle
Audi started its work on a new factory in Mexico this past September after investing the excess of €1 billion in the facilities and the necessary infrastructure.
The company’s production site is in San José Chiapa. It stretches on 998.4 acres. Almost 4,200 workers gather together the 1st model manufactured for the global market.
That’s the 2nd-gen Q5 that was presented in September at the Motor Show held in Paris. Now it is the recipient of the 8 millionth Quattro drivetrain. The car under consideration is a “Garnet Red” unit equipped with the company’s proprietary all-paw system. It was presented for the first time in 1980 together with the famous Ur-quattro. This technology has been developing throughout all these years and now it is possible to obtain it on more than 100 model variants.
It is regular for all offerings with the Allroad, S and RS badges, in the A8 fullsize sedan, Q7 SUV and the R8 supercar. The producer stresses that the other model series feature the option of the grippy Quattro and the set-up differs from the mode types.
