2025 Audi Q6 Sportback E-Tron Revealed
[UPDATE] Audi has released US specs for the Q6 Sportback E-Tron, sold here only with all-wheel drive and the bigger battery pack. The range is estimated at 300 miles. The regular Q6 will have 422 hp (456 hp peak) while the SQ6 is rated at 483 hp (509 hp peak). It goes on sale in the US next spring or summer, with full details to be disclosed closer to launch.
The electric SUV segment, known for its futuristic designs, welcomes the introduction of the 2025 Audi Q6 Sportback E-Tron. Building on Audi's previous electric models, the Q4 Sportback E-Tron and the Q8 Sportback E-Tron, this new addition offers a sleeker design with a lowered roofline. The sporty silhouette is not just for show, as it contributes to improved aerodynamics with a reduced drag coefficient. The Q6 Sportback E-Tron bears a resemblance to Audi's first-generation TT Coupe, although more muscular in its overall appearance.
Design and Features
The Q6 Sportback E-Tron shares similarities with other models on Audi's Premium Platform Electric architecture, including the A6 E-Tron. It features split headlights, a trend that Audi has embraced to distinguish the Sportback models from their counterparts. The rear end of the car, with its tapered finish, slightly affects cargo space but maintains practicality with generous storage options.
Inside, the Q6 Sportback E-Tron carries over the triple-screen setup seen in the Q6 E-Tron. It includes a 14.5-inch infotainment screen, an 11.9-inch driver's display, and a 10.9-inch passenger screen. Additional features, such as a head-up display with augmented reality technology, are available as optional extras.
Versatile Performance Options
Customers can choose between rear-wheel-drive and Quattro-equipped models, each available with different battery sizes. The top-of-the-line SQ6 Sportback E-Tron boasts dual motors and a larger battery, delivering an impressive 483 horsepower and a rapid acceleration time of 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. Lower-tier models offer varying power outputs, ensuring a suitable option for different performance preferences.
Exceptional Range and Charging Capabilities
The Q6 Sportback E-Tron provides ample range for electric driving. With the larger 94.9 kWh battery, the rear-wheel-drive Performance variant can cover up to 408 miles on a single charge, while the base model achieves a range of 339 miles with the 75.8 kWh battery. Charging is also a breeze, as the SUV supports up to 270 kW fast charging, allowing a 10-minute stop to recharge for an additional 165 miles of driving.
Scheduled Release and Availability
The Audi Q6 Sportback E-Tron is set to be released in Europe by the end of this year or early 2025. However, specific details and availability for the United States have not yet been announced.
Introducing the Audi SQ6 Sportback E-Tron
In addition to the standard Q6 Sportback E-Tron, Audi has unveiled the high-performance SQ6 variant. Powered by dual motors and the larger battery pack, the SQ6 delivers an impressive 483 horsepower and showcases the sporty capabilities of the electric SUV. With its superior acceleration and dynamic performance, the SQ6 adds a thrilling option to the Q6 Sportback E-Tron lineup.
