2025 Audi Q5 Sportback Unveiled: The Stylish Alternative
The Rise of Swoopy SUVs
The niche segment of swoopy SUVs has proven to be more than just a passing fad. Joining the ranks of its competitors, the Mercedes GLC Coupe and the BMW X4, the 2025 Audi Q5 Sportback is here to stay. This luxurious crossover has been given a coupe-inspired design, although opinions on its sleekness may vary.
Audi SQ5 Sportback: No More Fake Exhausts
Audi has heard the complaints of car enthusiasts and has made a significant change to the design of their vehicles. The Audi SQ5 Sportback no longer features fake exhaust tips, a change already implemented in the new S5 model. Additionally, the diesel engine found in the previous-generation model has been replaced with a gasoline engine, offering a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 362 horsepower.
Variety of Engine Options
The Audi Q5 Sportback lineup offers a range of engine options to cater to different preferences. The SQ5 and the diesel variant are both Quattro-only, while the base gas engine comes with standard front-wheel drive and optional Quattro. Audi plans to introduce additional powertrain options, including plug-in hybrids in the future.
Style vs. Practicality
As with many sportback models, the Audi Q5 Sportback sacrifices some practicality for a stylish design. The heavily sloped roofline reduces the luggage capacity, making it less suitable for carrying tall items. However, with the rear seats folded, the Q5 Sportback can still accommodate up to 50 cubic feet of cargo.
Price and Availability
The Audi Q5 Sportback comes with a slightly higher price tag compared to its conventional counterpart. In Germany, it starts at €54,800, with the SQ5 Sportback priced at €85,400. More details about pricing and availability in other regions, including the United States, will be announced by Audi soon.
