Aston Martin confirmed production of the DBX Crossover
Aston Martin has proved that it will produce a crossover based on the DBX Concept.
The British producer has specially prepared an additional £200 million in order to make the investment. It was procured from its main shareholders Tehara Capital and Investindustrial. This investment will give the automaker an opportunity to move ahead with development of the vehicle. The company is expecting that the new crossover model line-up will help to drive their future growth.
The DBX Crossover Concept was presented at the 2015 Motor Show in Geneva. It was completely electric. Though, Andy Palmer, the company’s CEO, assures that the production variant will be equipped with a petrol engine and with a plug-in hybrid set-up simultaneously. Maybe a completely electric variant will be added sometime later. The CEO also shares that the vehicle will have a high sitting position. In such a way, it will be accessible to everybody. As distinct from the concept with three doors, the crossover is going to have five doors.
Palmer revealed that the additional investment will give them a possibility to realize the DBX and other innovated splendid cars. They are going to form the most diverse and the strongest portfolio in the history of the British automaker.
