Alpine to Reveal Their Latest Electric Sports Crossover

Alpine is set to launch its forthcoming vehicle, an electric sports crossover, despite not labeling it as such. The French automotive brand will present a comprehensive overview of its new "sport fastback" on May 27 during the official unveiling. In the meantime, Alpine is offering a glimpse of the vehicle while finalizing winter trials in Finland.

Although the crossover's detailed exterior design remains concealed under a camouflage wrap, it clearly draws inspiration from the A390_β Concept. The vehicle features a bold, angular front with slender headlights and an aerodynamic hood that channels air over the windshield. The rear showcases a tapered roofline, a modest spoiler, and what appear to be full-width taillights.

Interior Insights

The only visible part of the interior is the steering wheel, which incorporates several Formula 1-inspired elements, including a dedicated button for overtaking and another for recharging. Additionally, there is a selector for the five driving modes, one of which is Track mode.

Performance Specifications

While specific performance details of the A390 remain under wraps, Alpine has confirmed that the vehicle will be powered by three electric motors and feature torque vectoring, ensuring impressive power and maneuverability. The car's dimensions are 181.69 inches in length, 60.31 inches in height, and 74.21 inches in width—comparable to the Ford Escape but approximately six inches shorter.

Looking Ahead

Comprehensive information about the new crossover will be available on May 27 in France. This model marks Alpine's third release following the A110 and A290. Orders for these models are expected to close early next year. However, Alpine is also developing an all-electric successor to the A110, though its release date has yet to be announced.
