Alfa Romeo Giulia can be offered with 1.8-Litre Biturbo Petrol Engine
We have heard gossips about the Alfa Romeo Giulia flagship for years, but there is some new information about the awaited Italian car.
If to believe a lately emerged report, the vehicle will be equipped with a new 1.8-litre biturbo petrol engine. It will have a larger turbine which will operate at medium and high rpm and a smaller turbine for operating at lower rpm A variable exhaust and intake valves will support them for a total power output of 300 hp (or 220 kW) at 5,600 rpm and torque of 400 Nm (or 295 lb-ft) at 3,800 rpm.
It is important that the new engine meets the Euro 6 regulations. It is joined to a dual-clutch automatic gear box. Thankfully to this, it will be capable of providing a 0-62 mph (or 0-100 km/h) acceleration in 6 seconds. The electronically limited top speed will stand at 152 mph (or 245 km/h).
Moreover, the model will be offered with a single turbo variant generating 240 hp and a range-topping 3.0-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo powertrain with an output of 526 hp (or 387 kW). The official name for the vehicle has not been confirmed yet.
The car is expected to premiere sometime in June of 2015. By the way, the vehicle will be grounded in the Giorgio rear-wheel drive platform.
