Meet the 2016 Acura NSX Pace Vehicle for Pikes Peak
The 2nd-gen Acura NSX is going to put on the pace vehicle suit for 2015 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
The car has gained a racing-inspired livery. It will lead the field of 140 participants to the peak of a mountain in Colorado. The mountain is 14,100-feet high. The event will happen on June 28. The participants and the vehicle will experience the 12.4-mile, 156-turn hill climb. The automaker is preparing 24 cameras on the course for obtaining a 360-degree series of pictures of the outspoken NSX.
Honda R&D Americas was responsible for working on the vehicle. Sage Marie will be at the helm of the car. He is a two-time winner of Pikes Peak and senior manager of Honda Public Relations in the U.S. This driver will be steering the Audi R8, which is the competitor of the car under consideration. The Audi R8 features a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive which can develop "north of 550 horsepower" with the help of three electric motors and a 3.5-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo engine.
