Acura NSX Prototype: Fresh Exclusive Pictures
Before the launch of the Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, the Acura NSX prototype made a test run, taking a lap on the course and presenting the company’s intentions of going racing with its fresh ultra-car.
Driven by a member of the Ohio-based constructing development team, the NSX prototype sported custom graphics and showed off the steady progress that has been made towards the start of the production vehicle that’s currently scheduled for 2015. The fresh Acura NSX will be enhacned by a mid-motor V6 paired to the Japanese company’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system.
The next-gen NSX will be manufactured in Marysville, Ohio with domestic and worldwide sourced parts.
“With leadership from our R&D and construction teams here in Ohio, we are developing a next gen sports vehicle that will be equally at home on the street and on the race track, so it is natural for us to showcase the prototype car here at Mid-Ohio,” informed Ted Klaus, head engineer of Honda R&D Americas, Inc. “It is exciting for us to see the prototype running on the track, representing the huge progress we’re making toward the 2015 worldwide start of the NSX, as we construct a fresh sports-model experience for customers around the whole world.”
