2014 Acura MDX Approved for NY Car Show Premiere
As Carsbase first announced last month, Acura will present the brand-new 2014 MDX elegant crossover.
The Honda luxury division unveiled a close-production prototype at the Detroit Car Show in January, giving a thinly veiled look at the fashionable modernizations and technology that will comprise the new package.
Running on a brand-new base, Honda says the 2014 MDX, “will offer better drive comfort, a more versatile cabin, and improved fuel economy, while also updated dynamic performance.”
Along with the visual modernizations, under the hood is a brand-new direct injection 3.5-liter V6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management to improve fuel efficiency, while Acura wants to get a best-in-class MPG rating as a result of a new front-wheel drive vehicle. Moreover, the MDX will carry on being available with the brand’s SH-AWD system.
A longer wheelbase is constructed to improve drive quality, while also adding second-row legroom, while a host of new safety and technology features are available. In the safety system there is Forward Collision Alarm and Lane Departure Alarm as well as a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and the optional Lane Keeping Assist Option plus a Blind Spot Information system. In the end, the MDX will also offer adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow; a technology that first joined the Acura with the 2014 RLX.
