2014 Acura ILX Receives Fresh Details, Pricing At $26,900
Trying to increase sales, Acura has unveiled its 2014 ILX with a host of new standard details to give more content and value for its basic-level sedan.
For the new model year, the Japanese brand has equipped 17-inch wheels to the ILX while the interior receives elegant leather seating surfaces, leatherette door liners, 8-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a Multi-Angle Review Camera. Another detail is Acura’s Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and a fresh music-system subwoofer, aiming to improve the driving experience.
The 2014 ILX is equipped with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder motor with 150 hp paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission or a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder with 201 hp mated to a 6-speed manual.
Carrying over from the 2013 model year is the Premium Package and Technology Package, while other options for the model feature Keyless Access System with smart entry and start button, Pandora radio, and SMS text message system for easy connection. The ILX was titled a 2013 Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Price for the 2014 Acura ILX 6-speed automatic base model starts from $26,900 not including $895 destination payment, showing a $1,000 growth over the 2013 model. The 2.0-liter vehicle with the Premium Package is $29,200 while the Technology Package gives the price up to $31,600. 6-speed manual owners will have to spend at least $29,200.
The 2.0L ILX is estimated at 24 mpg on the urban road and 35 mpg on the highway while 2.4L model nets 22 mpg on the urban road and 31 mpg on the highway.
