The Engine Placement of the New Hyundai Palisade is Surprisingly Low

Hyundai's Choice

When Hyundai introduced the new Palisade in South Korea, it left out one key detail - the naturally aspirated V-6 engine. While it may be absent in the domestic market, there is still hope for its appearance elsewhere. A recent walkaround video showcases the unique placement of the four-cylinder engine, sitting remarkably low in the engine bay.

A Turbocharged Powerhouse

The Palisade comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.5-liter gasoline engine, available in both pure gas and hybrid versions. While there might be other four-cylinder options, there is no mention of a diesel engine making a return. However, the engine's low placement promises improved handling due to a lower center of gravity.

Family-Friendly Features

In addition to the engine placement, the walkaround video reveals another interesting detail - tiny screens embedded in the armrests of the second-row captain's chairs. These screens provide controls for the heated and ventilated seats, adding an extra touch of luxury to the Palisade's interior.

A Practical SUV

The Palisade is designed as a family-friendly SUV, providing ample space and functionality. While it may not be breaking any speed records, it offers practical features like electrically adjustable seats and a V2L function available in the hybrid version, turning the SUV into a power bank. With options for seven or nine seats, the Palisade caters to various lifestyle needs.

Release and Future Plans

The new Palisade is set to arrive in the United States later this year as a 2026 model. Whether it will feature a larger V-6 engine remains to be seen. Hyundai enthusiasts eagerly await the family hauler's release to witness its performance and discover its full potential.
