Less eight and More Turbo Power for the Next Dodge Charger

The Dodge Charger has been using the same platform for almost a decade ago. However, according to the latest report, the offering of the next generation will be significantly improved.

Sources indicate that the next-gen Charger will be equipped with an extended variant of the Giorgio chassis. It underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulia. The vehicle will be of the same size as the previous model. Meanwhile it will gain sporty design reminding of the 1999 Charger concept.

This platform change will make the car to lose almost 460 pounds. In such a way the model will weigh 3,500 pounds.

Options for engine have not been confirmed yet. According to the reports, the car will be offered with a 2.0-litre turbocharged V4 Hurricane engine. It will be presented in the 22018 Jeep Wrangler. The unit will output almost 300 hp.

The automaker’s 5-star plan lies in presenting the restyled Charger in two years. Sources indicate that the automaker wants to make one more facelift for the current offering. The facelift will debut in the 2019 model year. We suppose that the next-gen Charger will be unveiled several years later.
