Cadillac Large RWD Model Could Give Birth to Buick Flagship

Rather than borrowing from Opel for yet another model, Buick might be preparing to share with Cadillac.

GM’s premium brand might use the fresh full-size rear-wheel drive platform primarily being developed to underpin a new full-size sedan for Cadillac to construct a Buick Flagship according to a message from Automobile Magazine.

While there hasn’t been any official confirmation about the schedule, GM chief Mark Reuss hasn’t been shy about discussing gaps in Buick’s product line. While answering questions about if GM would offer an answer to Ford’s SVT Raptor pickup, Reuss provided more pressing gaps that need attention, featuring Buick.

Buick’s premiere of the Riviera model in China earlier this year could provide a preview of what could finally become the company’s Cadillac-based flagship.
