Jeep Brings Trailhawk Back to the Grand Cherokee for 2027

Jeep is widening the 2027 Grand Cherokee range with the return of two familiar names: Trailhawk and Overland. After the 2026 refresh trimmed the lineup down, the brand is now restoring more variety for buyers who want either serious trail capability or a more upscale off-road-focused model.

The Trailhawk is the headline act. It comes equipped with Quadra-Trac II four-wheel drive, the Selec-Terrain system with a dedicated rock setting, and Quadra-Lift air suspension. Jeep also fits a rear electronic limited-slip differential, 30.5-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory All-Terrain tires, and six skid plates to shield the underbody.

Under the hood is Jeep’s turbocharged 2.0-liter Hurricane 4 engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Output is rated at 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. The Trailhawk also delivers 11.4 inches of ground clearance, along with a 36-degree approach angle and a 30.3-degree departure angle.

Visual changes include a revised front fascia to help with clearance, red recovery hooks, a matte-black hood graphic, and 18-inch wheels. Inside, the cabin gets black Nappa leather with red stitching.

The Overland returns as the more premium option in the lineup. Jeep describes it as a luxury-leaning off-road model, and its equipment list reflects that positioning. It rides on 21-inch wheels and features bright tow hooks, a body-color roof, and silver exterior details.

Inside, the Overland is fitted with Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and satin chrome trim accents. It also uses Quadra-Trac II with a two-speed transfer case, plus the Quadra-Lift suspension.

Both variants are expected to reach dealerships later in 2027, with pricing to be revealed closer to launch. For reference, the 2026 Grand Cherokee starts at $40,915, while the current top trim is the Summit at $62,595.
