RTR Unveils Mustang Spec 5 with Over 870 HP at a Competitive Price

With over fifteen years in the aftermarket industry, RTR Vehicles has developed numerous enhancements for various Ford performance models. Their latest innovation, the enhanced seventh-generation Mustang, stands out as possibly their most extreme project to date.

Introducing the Mustang RTR Spec 5, this model retains the iconic 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 engine while integrating a 3.0-liter Whipple Stage 2 Supercharger, an HD Race intercooler, and a cat-back exhaust system. These modifications boost the engine's performance to exceed 870 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque, outclassing the GTD—the most potent Mustang variant from Ford.

Enhanced with a lowered suspension, the Spec 5 maintains excellent suspension articulation. Upgrades include Tactical Performance components such as 30-way adjustable front coilovers, adjustable rear dampers, height-adjustable springs, and customizable front and rear sway bars.

The Spec 5 marks RTR’s debut with a full body kit, featuring composite front and rear fenders with built-in cooling vents, composite rocker panels, and extended composite front bumpers.

Additional carbon-fiber elements incorporate the front splitter, rocker splitters, rear quarter splitters, and both front and rear wake towers. Visual upgrades also encompass RTR’s upper grille with LED intakes, a redesigned lower grille, a decklid spoiler, aerodynamic corners, and various personalization options, including access to the RTR Extended Color Palette and custom paint-to-sample features.

The vehicle is equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires wrapped around 20-inch RTR Aero 5 Evo forged wheels, measuring 10.5 inches wide at the front and 11 inches at the rear. Braking performance is handled by six-piston front and four-piston rear Brembo brakes paired with two-piece front rotors.

Inside, the Spec 5 offers Recaro sport seats with cool grey bolsters, black suede inner supports, and ribbed inserts. Each Mustang is also outfitted with an Electronic Drift Brake, a dashboard plaque bearing Vaughn Gittin Jr’s signature, and the RTR Performance shift knob.

RTR Vehicles is producing only 50 units of the 2026 Mustang Spec 5. Each unit is priced from $159,999 and includes the base seventh-generation Mustang GT enhanced with the 401A Group and Performance Package.

Customers can choose between a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission for the Spec 5.
