Mustang Introduces FX Package with Bold 1980s Revival

Embracing its storied legacy, Ford presents the FX Package for the 2026 Mustang, blending iconic 1980s design elements into the seventh-generation model.

The FX Package showcases Adriatic Blue Metallic, a vibrant new shade inspired by the classic teal seen on the third-generation Mustang, paired with striking white accents, including the wheels. Enthusiasts can choose from two fresh rim designs, both finished in Oxford White.

Distinctive Wheel Designs

The standard wheel option features an updated 19-inch, five-spoke design previously available for the 2025 model. Alternatively, the Performance Package offers a retro-inspired wheel that harkens back to the original Fox Body Mustangs. Both wheel types include white center caps with a unique FX-specific font, reminiscent of the lettering found on Mustangs from 1987 to 1993.

Exterior Styling Enhancements

White detailing frames the 5.0-liter and GT badges, while an all-white pony emblem takes center stage on the glass-black grille. Vehicles equipped with the Performance Package will feature Oxford White Nostrils, whereas non-Performance models will sport Dark Carbonized Gray variants. The FX Mustangs also feature white taillights that create a striking contrast against the new blue exterior.

Retro-Inspired Interior

Inside, the FX Package continues the 80s aesthetic with unique perforated leather inserts that combine black and white patterns, reminiscent of the plaid seats from classic Mustangs. These inserts are available on both standard bucket seats and optional Recaro seats. The cabin is accented with City Silver and Adriatic Blue stitching across the doors, dashboard, seats, and steering wheel, and a Mustang GT badge in the FX-specific font graces the dashboard.

New Customization Options

The 2026 Mustang introduces new seatbelt colors: International Orange, Prime Blue, and Black with a red stripe. These options are available throughout the Mustang lineup, along with the Adriatic Blue Metallic and the return of Orange Fury Metallic Tricoat, which was last offered in 2019.

Additionally, the white taillights can be purchased through the Ford Performance Parts catalog, allowing current seventh-generation Mustang owners to enhance their vehicles. The FX Package is available for the GT Premium trim in all body styles and with both transmission options, with the choice to include or exclude the Performance Package.
