Ford Explorer Introduces Authentic Off-Road Variant

Ford is expanding its Tremor series with the latest addition being the Explorer, alongside the Maverick, Expedition, and F-150 within the Blue Oval’s lineup. The Explorer Tremor is scheduled for release in the 2026 model year, though the exact showroom availability date has yet to be announced.

This new Tremor variant of the Explorer is equipped with a suspension system optimized for off-road adventures, including a 1-inch lift, enhanced springs, and upgraded sway bars. These modifications improve both departure and approach angles. The vehicle rides on eighteen-inch Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tires and is distinguished by auxiliary lighting, orange tow hooks, and other accents in Ford’s signature “electric spice” color, setting it apart from standard Explorer models.

Engine Options for the 2026 Explorer Tremor

The Explorer Tremor is powered by Ford’s 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine, the same powerhouse found in the Explorer ST, delivering 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, Ford offers a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine option producing 300 horsepower. Standard features include all-wheel drive, a Toresen limited-slip differential, and underbody protection to enhance durability in rough terrains.

Inside, the Tremor model comes with the Ford Digital Experience and CoPilot 360 2.0 Assist. Optional amenities include massaging front seats, a 14-speaker B&O sound system, and the BlueCruise 1.5 hands-free driving technology.
