2026 Honda Ridgeline Maintains Competitive Pricing with Small Adjustments

Honda enthusiasts will find much to appreciate in the latest Ridgeline model. Renowned for blending the comfort of a crossover with the practicality of a pickup truck, the Ridgeline continues to offer a stylish and functional package. Despite debates over its classification as a true truck since its debut two decades ago, it has consistently delivered strong performance. However, the midsize truck market is becoming increasingly competitive, with rivals providing greater versatility and a wider array of options expected by pickup owners. Additionally, concerns are growing regarding the Ridgeline's somewhat dated powertrain.

The current generation of the Ridgeline is approaching a decade on the road without significant recent updates. Fortunately for prospective buyers, the 2026 model year introduces only modest price increases of about $500 across all trims compared to the 2025 lineup. Minor enhancements include a new Ash Green Metallic color for the TrailSport variant and the option of a contrasting black roof for the Black Edition.

Pricing Overview

Starting at $42,090, the Ridgeline is not the most affordable option in the all-wheel-drive midsize truck segment. The Chevrolet Colorado WT 4WD leads with a starting price of $36,895. At the higher end, the Ridgeline Black Edition is priced at $48,690, making it more affordable by up to $14,405 compared to models like the Jeep Gladiator Mojave X, which starts at $63,095. Only the Colorado Z71 is priced higher at $45,595, while competitors like the Ford Ranger Lariat 4WD and the Tacoma Limited Double Cab 4WD are priced slightly above and significantly above, respectively.

Performance and Fuel Efficiency

The Ridgeline is equipped with a standard all-wheel-drive system, a reliable V-6 engine, a crew cab, and a single bed size complemented by an in-bed trunk for added storage. However, it lacks hybrid or electrified powertrain options. For instance, the Toyota Tacoma offers a hybrid variant with a more powerful engine and greater torque, while even its standard engine provides competitive horsepower and torque figures.

In terms of fuel economy, the Ridgeline's V-6 engine achieves 18 mpg in the city, 24 mpg on the highway, and 21 mpg combined. This performance is on par with the non-hybrid Tacoma 4WD but falls short compared to models with hybrid options and other competitors like the Ford Ranger, which offers superior fuel efficiency.

Cargo Space and Practicality

The Ridgeline's cargo space is competitive, offering 33.9 cubic feet of usable area with the tailgate up, thanks to its 5.3-foot-long bed. While it surpasses the bed lengths of the Chevrolet Colorado, Ford Ranger, and Jeep Gladiator in its crew cab configuration, it does not offer a long-bed option like the Tacoma's 73.5-inch bed. Nonetheless, the Ridgeline's in-bed trunk provides an additional 7.3 cubic feet of stowage, a feature not commonly found in other midsize pickups.

Overall, despite facing increasing competition and some outdated components, the 2026 Honda Ridgeline remains a strong contender in the midsize truck market. Its unique blend of features and practical innovations continue to distinguish it from other trucks in the segment.
