Could Ford Mondeo Cheat On Us?

An investigation was started by German authorities. It has to deal with the diesel variants of the Ford Mondeo. A report in WirtschaftsWoche (a local magazine) appeared stating that the Fusion is using emissions cheating device.

Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority is going to inspect cars which feature a 2.0-litre TDCI diesel motor for the possible cheating. Tests are conducted by an unnamed institute. It was told that Ford fully cooperates with the process.

The automaker stated that it have not cheated and have no used tricks and the emissions levels of all the engines as well as the 2.0- TDCI comply with the old continent’s standards. The blue oval company says that it has not been using any illegal shut-off devices in their diesel exhaust after-treatment set-ups.

Sources suggest that KBA looked into the Focus and C-Max for various manipulating devices, but there was nothing illegal.
