Paparazzi Caught Ford EcoSport Facelift in Europe Before Its 2017 Launch

Ford started a facelift for the 2nd-gen ExoSport more than 1 year ago after it removed the rear-mounted spare wheel and provided mechanical and visual changes.

One more, quite substantial update is on the way. The engineers are developing a subcompact crossover that is more sutable for European clients.

The Blue Oval is counting on these moments with the redesigned variant of the Euro-spec EcoSport that will be constructed in Europe on the contrary to the current offering imported from the Chennai plant located in India. The plant in Romania will begin manufacturing of the upgraded offering next autumn. It will be officially revealed in the first part of the year.

The prototype was caught by paparazzi on the roads of Europe. It was camouflaged only on the front fascia. The inspiration will probably be taken from the larger Edge SUV. The rear part was spotted without any camouflage.

The engines will most likely be carried over from the current offering. You will see the 1.5-litre TDCi turbodiesel, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated and 1.0-litre EcoBoost units. The current EcoSport will be offered with an AWD layout on some markets.
