2 More Years of Production for Ford GT

Ford brings pleasant news for those who got a rejected application for the latest GT as the Blue Oval will be building them during 2 more years. So, expect twice many of them out there.

The automaker is not capable of building as many GTs and the public demands, but they are capable of producing extra cars.

The company’s plan provides the fans on the list for the GT an opportunity to purchase the carbon fibber supercar at the 3rd year of its manufacturing. At the beginning of 2018, the automaker will start accepting applications again.

Ford wants to keep the latest GT exclusive. There will be only 250 units built yearly. The lucky owners will be glad to see a mid-mounted six-cylinder biturbo engine producing more than 600 hp along with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The producer has seen 6,506 completed applications for the car under consideration. It selected 500 customers for the first 2 years of manufacturing. The Blue Oval has not revealed the price to the audience yet.

The GT will be raced for a total of 4 years in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Chanpionship.
