Ford reveals the 2016 Taurus

Ford has revealed the 2016 Taurus at a special event before its presentation at the 2015 Motor Show in Shanghai.

The car is instantly recognizable. It is being described as an innovated premium sedan for penetrating Chinese business clients. The Blue oval gives the model’s nameplate in the country first. The car was developed to meet the needs of the local market.

As to its styling, the Taurus has a lot of details reminding the current Mondeo/Fusion. A hexagonal radiator enclosure surrounded by sweptback headlamps from LED is among them. The taillights and 19-inch 10-spoke wheels are also notable.

The automaker shares that inside the car features a “smart design” with a panoramic sunroof. It also has a lot of space for the rear passengers and more than 25 “intelligent” storage rooms.

The model is equipped with a 2.7-litre EcoBoost six-cylinder engine. Though, Ford has not announced its characteristics yet. They say the engine delivers power in a smarter and stronger package.

The vehicle is going to be manufactured at the Changan Ford Hangzhou Plant which has opened not long ago. It represents a $760M investment. The factory is the sixth one assembly plant which manufactures Ford cars in China. Moreover, it can produce 250,000 cars per year.
