Next Implementation of S2000: This Time a Turbo Hybrid

Honda is allegedly planning to reveal a car based on S2000.

A corresponding report has appeared in the press and mentioned three subsequent releases. The related sports car will occupy a niche a step lower than NSX and higher than S660. This bulk will be characterized by utilization of mid-engine structure.

Next derivative of S2000 is promised to be of a coupe kind and, most importantly, unite a turbocharged engine with an electric one to boost performance figures.

Under the hood the car will share propulsion with still unreleased Civic Type-R – a V4 with 2.0-litre volume and a minimal expected potential of 280 hp. Rumours have it that S2000 will be privileged to a decent output growth.

Benefits like middle position of the engine, four-wheel drive and turbo part of the petrol motor packed into a coupe look good on paper. However, it bears little resemblance to the sports vehicle supporting natural aspiration and two-wheel drive which ceased to be assembled five years ago.
