Next Ford Taurus with Wider Platform

Taurus of 2016 model year will gladden the customers with a serious qualitative boost in its outlook.

Following the trend of producing increasingly more effective cars, Ford decided to give less weight and more speed to its modified Taurus sedan. Apart from that, a novelty will be featured in gearbox department, presented by an automatic for nine speeds. The vehicle is expected to be closer to Ford’s Fusion model in terms of platform design than to Volvo, an altered variant of which Taurus uses nowadays.

Major widening is reported to be implemented to Fusion platform in order to adapt it for the next generation Taurus. Wheelbase and rear overhang are also to become longer. The American company is anxious about the fuel consumption of the next Taurus and it will try to minimize it for the fuel efficiency of the current model leaves much to be desired.
