Hybrid Line-Up Soon to Face Fiat Chrysler

As almost every automaker has included one or two hybrid models to its product line, Fiat Chrysler will soon present its way out of severer environmental regulations.

Newest American legislation implies that motor cars and small trucks shall catch up with their fuel consumption by an average figure of 54.4 mpg. As the regulation will become fully valid in 2025, Fiat Chrysler is already preoccupied by the need of electrification. Final position taken by the brand in 2013 for least fuel economy in America acts rather as a catalyst for faster transition to the use of electric power.

First steps to comply with the demands are already made. For instance, Fiat Chrysler has introduced its automatic gearbox for nine speeds. New Chrysler 200 which is due to be released next year will come up to 36 mpg fuel rate on a public road.

Nevertheless, the company still feels that it is not enough. As CEO has put it, not to be left behind during 2025 conversion, application of hybrid power is imperative.
