Advanced Gearbox of Chrysler Line-up
More speeds generally transform into better fuel economy and performance figures, and Chrysler is planning to use the concept to the maximum.
The company has already started speeding up with this year’s Cherokee featuring nine gears provided by the German producer. Further plans of the American company foresee proceeding with such a boost.
Advanced gearbox will also be found in next year’s models of Chrysler, and the brand does not indent to stop at this extension.
Common CEO of Fiat and Chrysler announces that nine speeds of the gearbox will be installed in a lot of upcoming vehicles. He emphasizes that mostly large cars will be affected by gearbox improvement in their subsequent modifications.
Launch of the new transmissions has not been cloudless at the start – one can recall the two-month delay of Cherokee due to that. In spite of certain difficulties, CEO does not lose his enthusiasm claiming that everyone learns from their mistakes. He also states that the company’s engineers have gained some experience in developing nine-speed gearboxes and keep improving the technology, as this solution remains the most effective to date.
