Ford Transit Connect Receives the Hot Wheels Treatment

Ford Transit Connect will certainly try to be cool, at least, it has all opportunities for that.

Famous for releasing some of the coolest concept vehicles that actually become toy and real production vehicle, Ford’s “vandemonium” focus at this year’s SEMA Event meant it was the Transit Connect’s turn to get the custom treatment.

Notably, tricked out with a custom Hot Wheels paint job the van is 4 inches wider up front and 6 inches wider in the rear with special exhaust pipes on either side and gullwing doors substituting the conventional sliding doors. Other enhancements feature a Focus RS styled front end and 20-inch wheels, while the interior receives an even more dramatic makeover with storage for tools, a 55-inch TV screen, two 18-inch tablets and some Recaro sports seats taken from a Focus ST.

Enhanced by a 2.5-liter 4-clinder it might not be much fun to drive, however you can race inside the vehicle thanks to 2 Hot Wheels race tracks forming a drag strip down the center of the van.

Additionally, for more fun the van is constructed to tow a custom “Rip Rod” made by Hot Wheels and enhanced by Ford’s fresh 1.0-liter EcoBoost 3-cylidner.

Chances to see a production variant of the actual van are insignificant; however, Hot Wheels enthusiasts will be able to pick up a 1:64 scale die-cast model in the fall of 2014.
