Fiat-Based Baby Jeep Spotted
One of the fresh models slated for an American badge on a Fiat platform was just spotted testing.
The veiled body looks like a Fiat 500L, but CarsBase’s sources inform that there powertrain and chassis are bound for life as a small Jeep crossover. Both a Jeep and Fiat variants of the car will be constructed in Turin, Italy.
Wearing a Fiat badge, it will be named the 500X, while the Jeep name remains a riddle. The model will take on a boxier style for the off-road Chrysler sub-brand and a rounder shape akin to the 500 line for Fiat. Both will be front-wheel drive based and the Jeep will provide all-wheel drive as an option.
