2015 Chrysler 200 to Guide Automaker's Return

At the next 2014 Detroit Auto Show, Chrysler will debut with its refreshed 200 sedan, a vehicle that the automaker plans will guide its resurgence and become a real force in the midsize sedan section.

The Fiat-owned  brand has mounted a breathtaking return with the help of its Jeep and RAM brands, while boss Sergio Marchionne has trimmed away the outdated cars and slow sellers. The refreshed 200 will set up the beginning of the brand’s car range transformation with the industry using it to measure Chrysler’s profit.

According to Chrysler dealer owner David Kelleher, “The brand-new 200 will be a different model. People will wake up and come to purchase this vehicle.” Kelleher also informed that Chrysler was “somewhat challenged” by the fresh Ford Fusion, which has done very well on the market since its premiere.

According to Ralph Gilles, Chrysler’s design boss, the brand-new 200 won’t be a derivative of the automaker’s bigger 300 sedan and will in fact sport its own style and appearance. Kelleher also said that the refreshed 200 has the “power of a very, very costly European sedan like a Mercedes, but it’s surely American.”

The fresh 200 was presented to dealers last October and was just introduction to make dealers stand on their feet.

Past information has indicated it will receive a 9-speed automatic transmission and consume 39 mpg on the highway.
