The Pontiac G6 was built on the GM Epsilon platform and offered in sedan, coupe, and retractable hardtop convertible body styles. Engine options ranged from a 2.4-liter inline-four to various V6 engines displacing 3.5, 3.6, and 3.9 liters, mated to manual or automatic transmissions. Compared to its predecessor, it featured a modern design, a longer wheelbase, and enhanced safety features. Throughout its production run, the model received several updates and styling revisions, including the performance-focused GXP trim. It was primarily marketed in North American markets until the discontinuation of the Pontiac brand by General Motors.
