The Mercedes-Benz EQC (chassis code N293) was unveiled in late 2018 and entered series production in 2019 as the founding model of the Mercedes-EQ electric sub-brand. Built on a modified iteration of the GLC (X253) MRA platform, it combined familiar luxury crossover proportions with EV-specific styling like the integrated Black Panel grille surround.

The sole EQC 400 4MATIC variant utilized two asynchronous electric motors—one per axle—delivering a combined output of 408 hp and 760 Nm of torque. Its floor-mounted 80 kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivered a WLTP driving range of 370 to 417 km. Renowned for its whisper-quiet cabin and smooth air suspension ride, EQC production concluded in 2023.
