The Lotus Evora (Type 122, developed under Project Eagle) was unveiled at the 2008 British International Motor Show and launched in 2009, representing Lotus's first all-new platform since the 1995 Elise. Conceived as a practical, usable grand tourer, the Evora offered a 2+2 seating configuration (with a 2+0 option), leather-trimmed luxury, and modern amenities. It was built around a three-piece modular bonded aluminum chassis with tubular steel subframes. Power came from a transverse mid-mounted 3.5-liter Toyota 2GR-FE V6 producing 280 hp naturally aspirated and 350 hp in the supercharged Evora S. In 2015, Lotus launched the heavily overhauled Evora 400 (400 hp / 406 PS), featuring refreshed styling, lowered and narrowed sills for easier cabin access, a revamped dashboard, and a standard Torsen LSD. It was subsequently followed by the lighter Sport 410 and the track-honed GT430 (430 hp / 436 PS) with extensive carbon fiber aero. Gearbox options included a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed IPS automatic. The Evora was sold globally until production concluded in late 2021.
